The park is one of Africa’s premier forest destinations, known for Chimpanzee and other primate tracking safaris in Rwanda. Because of its diversity, it has a great appeal to those who love exploring the dense jungles of Africa, and only matched by Uganda’s Kibale forest national park.

So with its impressive diversity, Nyungwe forest has more than 1’000 plant species, 320 species of birds and 75 species of mammals. But more to its wildlife diversity are the primates, and Nyungwe forest has a total of 13 Primate species.
