Kidepo Valley national park is a 1’441sq.km park and one of Uganda’s most remarkable safari destination because of its alluring scenery. It’s situated at the northern end of the country on boarders with Sudan and Kenya.

The park is among East Africa’s premier wildlife viewing safari destinations so over the years it has received various International accolades. Travel Medias like the CNN Travel have listed it on several occasions as a top safari destination in Africa.

The last 10 years, Kidepo Valley has been nominated at the World Travel Awards alongside Serengeti and Masai Mara as Africa’s leading national parks . Its undulating plains are enhanced by towering ranges which offer great scene for wildlife viewing and photography safaris in Africa. Kidepo Valley is home to the mysterious Ike people residing in the mountain areas. More to its beauty is the large numbers of wildlife species including more than 70 of mammals. There are unique species like Cheetahs, Ostriches and Jackals, only found in this park in a natural setting.

There’s variety of tourist activities available in Kidepo Valley; safari game drives, hiking, nature walks, and walking safaris. You will take on a domestic flight to and from the park and this therefore gives you more time to explore the park.

Note: Welcome to the Pearl of Africa! Meet and Greet by the guide on arrival at Entebbe Airport. He then transfers you to the overnight accommodation in Entebbe.

Package Itinerary

Today after breakfast, you will take a flight to the far north of the country to Kidepo Valley, on this two hour flight you enjoy the scenic views of the Pearl of Africa from above.
On arrival to the park, you will be transferred to the lodge, check-in and later in the evening, you will browse the gleaming savannas on a game drive to watch the wildlife. The evening presents remarkable opportunity to watch the sun-set over the beautiful plains with the wildlife including big and small mammals stride across the plains.
Dinner and overnight will be at the lodge.

Meal Plan: Half Board. O/night: Apoka Safari lodge (Superior).

Today after breakfast, you will set-off for an early game viewing session where you will browse the savannas before day-break for chance to catch the night hunters. You will take on a full day wildlife adventure where you will explore the 1’442 sq.km park.
The various trails through the Kidepo and Narus valley will be explored on a safari drive and these two valleys offer outstanding encounters with wildlife, the sand in Kidepo and the Borassus palms lined along the plains offer great scene for safaris. Some of the species you might encounter include; Rothschild’s Giraffes, Cape Buffalos, Bushbucks, Caracel, Burchells Zebra and many more.

Leave the lodge after breakfast, today you will go for a community walk on which you will encounter the remote and fascinating group of the Karamojong, who have over the years have tried to survive the forces of change. You will meet these people in their traditional homes the Manyattas, they let you experience some of the traditions and values of African culture. Capturing some of their practices through Kodak moments is worth for your adventure.
Later in the day after a lunch break, you will take on an adventurous hike to the summit of the Morungole ranges-a sacred home of the mysterious Ike people; the peak command glorious view of the undulating plains of the park and Karamoja. Return to the lodge for relaxation, dinner and overnight.

Today after breakfast, you go for a nature walk around Apoka camp and this walk presents stunning moments to watch the wildlife at close quarters, about 50-70 meters away from various species. There are various trails along which you will experience part of the beauty of Kidepo valley national park. Return to the lodge later, have a lunch break and spend the rest of the day at leisure.

Today have a leisurely breakfast at the camp, spend some of the hours of the morning to early afternoon at leisure, later checkout and transfer to the airstrip where you will be for your domestic flight to Entebbe. You will be dropped at the hotel and airport for your international flight back home.
