Package Overview

You will witness Uganda’s share of the African Big Five on this wildlife safari into its wilderness. On the menu is Kidepo Valley and Murchison Falls National Parks, which two are Uganda’s premier game viewing safari destinations. The two parks each hosts four of the African Big Five so they offer the best opportunities where one can see them in the country.

So on this Uganda wildlife safari, you have an opportunity to see Africa’s finest wildlife like; Rhinos, Lion, Leopard, Buffalos and Elephants on Game drives. You will take on a launch cruise in Murchison Falls; a perfect way to see the wildlife along the Victoria Nile. In Kidepo Valley national park you will take on a nature walk to see wildlife up-close. But more to the Big four, these two parks each has more than 70 mammal species and over 500bird species.

But there’s more to watch on safari when you visit Ziwa Rhino sanctuary. This Rhino habitat is found in Nakasongola district on the main way to Murchison Falls. You will traverse the sanctuary on a nature walk with a ranger guide.

Note: Welcome to the land of Wild Adventures! You will be warmly received by the guide at Entebbe International Airport. He will then transfer you to your overnight accommodation in Kampala.

Package Itinerary

Early departure from Kampala after breakfast, transfer northwards of the country to Gulu or Kitgum. On this journey, you will break off in Nakasongola for Rhino tracking in Ziwa Rhino sanctuary, it is this place you can see these members of the African Big Five in a natural setting. Later, continue past Karuma falls to Gulu/ Kitgum and check-in at the booked accommodation.

Early departure to the park after breakfast, where you will arrive in the afternoon hours and continue to the lodge, check-in here. Later, start off this Big Five safari search with an afternoon game drive through the Narus valley where you expect to see herds of Buffalos, Giraffes, Zebras, Elands, Oribis and Elephants, as well as the odd Jackal and a Lion which may be spotted atop a rock kopje. Return to the lodge where dinner and overnight will be.

Leave the lodge with packed breakfast, today you will participate in a full-day wildlife experience in the park. Start off with a morning game drive to the hot springs via the palm tree fringed Kidepo River valley. Lookout for the Ostriches and Leopard tortoises along the way among other wildlife. After a lunch break, stretch your legs on a guided walk in the park and for adventure enthusiasts, you may like to hike the lovely Morungole ranges towering over the park’s plains.

Depart Kidepo Valley national park early after breakfast, hit the African marram road on the journey northwestwards to Murchison Falls. It is an awe-inspiring drive through Acholi-land via Kitgum and Gulu leading you past beautiful countryside with scenes of local communities all the way.

Setoff for an early game drive within the park where you will browse the beautiful savannas in the morning for an opportunity to see the wildlife which roams the northern bank of Murchison Falls.
Have a lunch break and in the afternoon you will take on an adventurous and breathtaking boat trip from Paraa all the way to the bottom of the mighty Falls. You will be able to spot lots of wildlife along the banks which come drink from the river.

Sign off this African Big Five safari with a primate experience on a Chimpanzee tracking adventure in Budongo Forest. Leave the lodge very early after breakfast, transfer southwards of the park- to Budongo Forest Reserve for a Chimpanzee tracking encounter in Kaniyo Pabidi section.
This ironwood and mahogany forest is a remarkable site to see the Chimps as well as other primates like Olive Baboons, Blue Monkeys and birds including those endemic here. Continue to Masindi town where you will have lunch and drive back to Kampala or Entebbe for your flight.
