Uganda is home to a number of fascinating safari encounters. With over 40+ ethnic tribes, the country is a hotspot for cultural safaris and mega experiences. Its welcoming people make it a destination to be on the other hand. It’s a country proclaimed as the “Pearl of Africa”. Though small, nevertheless it has some of Africa’s remote wilderness safari parks known for flawless wildlife viewing.

On this Uganda wildlife and cultural safari, you savor some of the cultural and wildlife amusements the country has on its menu. For your cultural experience, you will tour the lively city of Kampala where you visit remarkable sites like Bahai Temple, Gaddafi National Mosque, the Buganda Palace of Mengo with the Royal Mile, as well as the Ndere cultural center for a traditional performance.

Away from Kampala, Igongo cultural museum is a stronghold for the Ankole culture and their tradition. While for your wildlife palate, you will have a safari in Queen Elizabeth national park where you see the wildlife on a game drive and launch cruise. You will also enjoy primate tracking in Kalinzu forest reserve or Kyambura gorge.

Package Itinerary

Welcome to the Pearl of Africa! Meet and greet from the company guide on the day you arrive at Entebbe airport, who will then transfer you to the hotel in Kampala where you will rest, dinner and overnight will be here.

Overnight(O/n): Sheraton hotel (Luxury) /Imperial Royale hotel (Midrange) /Speke hotel (Basic). Meal Plan: Dinner.

Start with breakfast at the hotel, then the guide picks you here and start off the Kampala city tour with a visit to the Bahai temple- the only one of its kind on the African continent. You then visit the Gadaffi National Mosque the second largest in Africa and while at the spire gives you view of the city’s historical 7 hills.

In the afternoon, you transfer to Rubaga hill which harbors one of the biggest catholic cathedral in Africa, a lot to be learnt here.
After your lunch break, depart to Buganda’s palace of Mengo where you will learn about the culture of one of the oldest Kingdoms of Africa. In the same circuit, you will see the Royal Mile, Idi Amin’s torture chambers and Kasubi Royal tombs. In the evening, you will go to Ndere cultural center for traditional performance.

Depart Kampala early after breakfast, hit the road to Queen Elizabeth national park via the Equator where you have a simple experience with snapshots. Later continue with the journey, and have another break at Igongo cultural museum for a culture tour experience getting to learn about the Ankole people. It is here you have lunch then leave for the park where you arrive in the evening hours at the lodge.

Start with an early breakfast at the lodge then you go to the park for an early game drive through the undulating beautiful savannas. Circuits through Kasenyi offer premier wildlife opportunities to see the small and big game in Queen Elizabeth including mammals like Buffaloes, Antelopes like the Uganda Kobs, Elephants, Lions and the odd Leopard. This activity lasts about 2-3 hours.
After your lunch break, you then go for a fascinating wilderness experience of a boat cruise along the Kazinga channel waterway where you cruise past schools of Hippopotamuses, with the shores flocked by birds, and mammals like Elephants and Buffalos at most times. This 2 hour voyage is one of the most relaxing and perfect way to enjoy an African safari.

Start with an early breakfast then transfer to either Kalinzu forest reserve or Kyambura Gorge for the Chimpanzee tracking experience. The atmosphere and/or nature or ecology of these two places is different; with Kalinzu being just a mere forest system at an average altitude of about 1’400 m above sea level while Kyambura is a gorge, it is a forest valley ecosystem known for its adventure and great towering scenery. However, meeting the Chimps here may require along trek than in Kalinzu but its really exciting and worth the time.

After tracking, have lunch then drive off to the areas around Katwe for a local experience and an encounter with the people, you get chance to visit the locals harvesting salt, making crafts and various hand works. Visits to these communities is part of our responsible tourism and intended to contribute to/ support these local communities and their projects. Later, return to the lodge for relaxation, dinner and overnight stay.

Have breakfast at the lodge then depart Queen Elizabeth very early for Fort Portal to explore the treasures in this beautiful tourism city of Uganda. You continue to Nyakasura just outside of Fort Portal to the Amabeere Ga’nyinamwiru caves, the site has a vibrant cultural history and natural scenery that are absolutely intriguing. You will also visit/ hike to some of the beautiful craters around here then transfer to Fort Portal where your overnight will be at the booked accommodation.

O/n: Kyaninga lodge (Luxury) /Mountain of the Moon (Midrange) /Koi-koi Cultural Village (Basic)

Today you explore some of the beautiful and striking craters of Fort Portal area, hikes to these craters is absolutely an intriguing African adventure. The summits of the explosion craters command a gorgeous scenery and fabulous Kodak moments, some trails lead past beautiful plantation fields and dramatic landscape. Later in the afternoon, you return to the lodge for relaxation.

Checkout from the lodge after breakfast, then travel back to Kampala where you arrive in the early hours of the evening. You then are transferred to the airport for your flight or the hotel in Entebbe or Kampala.
