This is a Uganda wildlife safari highlight which will introduce you to the wilds of Murchison Falls, Queen Elizabeth and Lake Mburo national parks. Murchison Falls and Queen Elizabeth national parks are Uganda’s premier wildlife safari destinations for both local and international visitors. These two wildlife safari destinations have a combined count of over 170 mammal species with 4 of the African Big Five.

More to that is a tally of over 1000 bird species among other wildlife in the adjacent reserves such as Kyambura and Budogo forest which shelter the Chimpanzee Great Apes.

The highlights of this Uganda safari include, a visit to the top of mighty Murchison Falls know for the exploding sound and a launch trip along the Kazinga channel where you spot wildlife like Hippos, Elephants etc. Will you be able to see the tree climbing Lions in Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth? You will also visit Lake Mburo National Park known for its rich blend of habitats. On this safari in Uganda, you’re to participate in different activities such as wildlife viewing on safari game drives, launch cruises, and nature walks or treks.

Note: Welcome to the Pearl of Africa! Meet and greet from the company guide on the day of arrival at Entebbe airport for this Uganda wildlife safari. You will then be transferred to your overnight accommodation in Kampala where your stay will be.

Package Itinerary

Depart Kampala after breakfast, on to Murchison falls national park in the northwestern part of the country. Breakoff for a visit to Ziwa Rhino sanctuary where you will go on a foot safari to track the White Rhinos; which are a member of Africa’s Big Five.
After lunch, depart to Murchison Falls. Check in at the lodge on arrival.

Meal Plan: Half Board, O/night: Paraa Safari lodge (Luxury) /Pakuba Safari lodge (Midrange) /Fort Murchison (Basic).

Leave the lodge after breakfast and go for an early morning launch trip along the Victoria Nile which sets off from Paraa heading upstream to the bottom of the intriguing water falls. You will be able to see wildlife including mammals, reptiles like the Nile crocodile as well as birds. From the launch cruise, you will hike to the top of the exploding falls and this is the highlight of the visit to the park.
In the afternoon, you go for a safari game drive on the northern section where you are able to see lots of wildlife like mammals such as; Rothschild’s Giraffes, Cape Buffalos, Jackson’s Hartebeests and many more.

Leave Murchison falls after breakfast and transfer southwards to Fort Portal through this part of the country known for profusion, this countryside is beautiful with remarkable scenery. You will have a lunch break in Hoima and continue with the journey arriving in the evening, at the hotel.

Leave early for Queen Elizabeth after breakfast, this journey gives you a pleasant scenery with the towering backdrop of the majestic Rwenzori Mountains; check-in at the lodge, have lunch here and prepare for an evening game drive within the park where you be able to see wildlife including mammals and birds.

Hit the savanna plains early after breakfast, for an intriguing wildlife safari game drive through the pleasant savanna circuits. The plains are flocked by a variety of wildlife species that you come across like the Warthogs, various Antelopes like the Uganda Kobs, big game like African Elephants, Buffalos and many others.

In the afternoon after a lunch break, you explore the astonishing waters of the Kazinga channel waterway, where you be able to see wildlife along the shores, and the launch cruise is one perfect way to enjoy an African safari. The channel is known for its tremendous population of Hippopotamus and other wildlife like birds that are regularly see in and out of the water.

After an early breakfast, today you go for an adventurous walk through the Kyambura Gorge. Here you will track the Chimpanzee Great Apes, with a ranger guide, you will visit the crater fields on this half day adventurous walk in the gorge. The forest is home to a number of wildlife with over 6 other primates including Vervets, Blue Monkeys, Baboons and others as well as birds. A lot is to be discover here and apart from the wildlife, the gorge commands stunning wilderness scenery.
You will have a picnic lunch and overnight at the lodge.

Have breakfast, checkout from the lodge, then embark on a scenic journey through the dirt paths southwest of the country to Lake Bunyonyi where you will arrive in time for lunch at the booked accommodation. After lunch, you spend the rest of your day at leisure of the lodge.

Today after breakfast, you will go for a mid-morning Lake Bunyonyi canoe or boat experience, the lake is one of the deepest in Africa, it is known for its glorious scenery and its name denotes from the so many present little birds “Bunyonyi”-a local word that are usually seen skimming along the waters. On the ride, you will visit various islands on the lake many of which are rich in culture and history like the punishment island. Return to the lodge later, have lunch and in the evening, you can decide to do a community walk.

Depart for Lake Mburo national park after breakfast, you will visit Igongo Cultural museum for a taste of the Ankole culture. It is here you will have lunch and later continue to the park, check-in at the lodge where your dinner and stay will be. Today you will enjoy an introductory evening game drive in the park or horse ride.

After breakfast, hit the beautiful savannas of this park blend with acacias for an early wildlife safari game drive through the Eastern hinterland, this is an area with lots of wildlife that you will encounter. Lake Mburo national park is known for the large numbers of Zebras and Impalas, and others like the elusive Klip Springer, plus Buffalos among others and if lucky the new members- the Rothschild’s Giraffes and Leopard.
In the afternoon hours after your lunch break, you will take on a boat cruise along Lake Mburo, where you will see wildlife like Crocodiles and Hippopotamus on the voyage as well as water birds like Pelicans, Cormorants, Fish Eagle and Herons.

Sign off this Uganda wildlife safari with a morning guided walk around Rwonyo, leading you to the salt licks that are frequented by wildlife.

Later leave the park and transfer back to Kampala. En-route you stop for lunch and at the equator for some snaps and simple water try out. Drop-off is at the airport for your flight or the hotel in Kampala or Entebbe.
