Package Overview
This safari is designed for people who would love to meet the Gorillas but have limited time to spend on safari. Rwanda’s main drawcard are its signature luxury gorilla trekking safaris. Its a small but stunningly beautiful country and more so an incredible destination for meeting the world’s prestigious Mountain Gorillas. Rwanda has a great appeal to those with limited time to track and those looking for ultra luxury gorilla adventures.
Rwanda’s portion of the Mountain Gorilla is in Volcanos national park which is part of the greater Virunga massif. The Virunga chain extends into two other countries and the subsequent areas are protected as gorilla national parks in those countries. These include; Mgahinga national park in Uganda and Virunga in Democratic Republic of Congo.
On this 2-day Rwanda luxury Gorilla tracking safari, you will trek through the misty and bamboo shrouded Volcanoes National Park. Here you will encounter a family of one of these world’s Great Apes you will be assigned.
Package Itinerary
Welcome to the Land of a Thousand Hills! Meet and Greet with the company representative at Kigali airport on arrival, who will help you through the immigration process, and then transfer for your connecting helicopter flight to Musanze airstrip near the park. Here you meet with the company guide who will transfer you to your accommodation. The flight rewards you with stunning aerial view of the “Land of a thousand hills”.
Meal Plan: Half Board [HB]. Overnight (o/n): Singita Kwitonda lodge or One & Only Gorilla Nest (Luxury)
Have a hearty and early breakfast at the lodge, then the guide transfers you to the park reception area where you will assemble for briefing from the park ranger guide, who will take you through the Mountain Gorilla trekking etiquette.
You then enter the forest to start off the trekking adventure which may last just a few to some good hours (1-4) depending on the movements and location of the gorilla group you are tracking, or depending on other factors like the pace of the trackers. Once you come across the gorilla family, you will have an hour with them and later retreat to the starting point.
Here you meet with the guide who will transfer you back to the lodge for lunch, check-out and transfer for your return domestic flight to Kigali International airport. Our representative will see you off for your international flight back home.
